About Me

A happy wife of Indra and also a proud mother of Zhavar & Zhahir(and hopefully more to come ;p). Currently living in Groningen, The Netherlands. I'm living a perfect live here. However, I can't wait to be back in Jakarta, Indonesia. My land. My home country. Where I can live a much much more perfect life, to be able to share with my lovely parents, parents in law, sisters, sister in law, brothers in law, nieces, nephew, aunties, uncles, cousins and NOT to forget my grandmas. Hmm, I think I just mentioned the whole big family. Yep, there you have it. I love my family so much. Well, don't you?! Oh, and I miss my friends too ;p. Anyway, I'm just starting to learn photography now. So I'll be posting a lot of photos here. Hope you will enjoy it as much as I do. So, what are you waiting for? Just scroll down and enjoy it!

Picnic

I've been wanting to have a picnic in our backyard like forever. Fortunately, it was bright and sunny, this morning. We ate our breakfast there while watching Zhavar playing with his ball.

It really was nice picnicking in your own yard. I wonder, why it took us 3 years to do this..

I used sharpen unmask tool in this picture.

Dear Zavar...what a handsome one with your mom's talent, just a perfect snaps...really, I wish I have a camera like hers...ihik,k ihik ihik...hehehehe,

Senaz, two thumbs up, good job indeed, take me seriously, I want to learn from you how to take those beautiful pics, first, do you use computer program to edit your pics? like Photoshop may be, secondly, what type of DSLR do u use and the lenses? Too much to ask? Forgive me I'm just in love with your works and beautiful Zavar....

The reason why we haven't done this ever since we started living here 3 years ago is that because most, if not all, of our neighbours don't do this sort of thing. They usually just use their terraces..

But I must say, the picnic worked because Zhavar was there. Imagine if it were just us sitting on the rug having breakfast watching all those people passing on the road just on the other side of the fence of "our" backyard. Must've been a funny sight.. hehehe.. not to mention the terrace would've been only be 1 meters away...

All in all, it was a good idea.. we had a picnic on the grass, and I didn't have to worry that batteries on my laptop will run out, as the wall plug was always within reach.. hehehe...

@mba Vita: Thank you mba..*blushing*
Anyway, I'm not good at post production thing. I've older version of photoshop(7.0). I use it rarely. And the only thing that I do is basically just bump up the brightness & contrast. However, up until now I've been experimenting with it. Which I must say, hasn't succeed yet.The result was disaster. So I'm still learning and maybe someday I'll be one of the photoshop master ;p.
My camera is Canon eos 300D. And the lens..I've 4 lenses. Which 3 of them are cheap lenses. And what I meant by that is those lenses are 'you get what you pay lenses'. And I've 1 lens of 50mm 1.8, which is the best lens that I own. It's my fave lens. Almost all the time I use it.

@hubby: Yes, it would be silly if it only us picnicking on the yard since our neighbour never done it.

@tari: iya betul..ini Senaz..ini Tari abnon selatan yaaa?

Hi! I have no idea how you found me, but I'm glad you did. Your pictures are cute!

Flare shots... ummmm...let's see. I waited until the sun was low in the sky, and I put my subject between me and the sun. You just have to play around with your angle until you can get the sun to just peek out from behind your subject. Also, the lower your aperture (higher the number) the smaller the sun flare will actually be. I think on the wedding picture I used a fill flash as well from my speed light to light up the couple a bit.

Oh- and I definitely recommend learning your way around some sort of Photoshop program. At least half my work is done in Photoshop. I also shoot everything in RAW so I have more control over my post-processing as well.

Hope that helps!

Hi Senaz! Nice to meet a new blogger!! Thank you so much for all your compliments. To answer your question, yes I do use actions. I downloaded them from The Pioneer Woman website. http://thepioneerwoman.com/photography/2008/04/actions/ The actions were free and work in Photoshop. I use the "define and sharpen" action on just about every picture I take. They are fabulous!
